Part way through her undergraduate degree in physical geography Ruth spent six months in New Zealand at Auckland University on exchange. In amongst the bungee jumping and skydiving she realised that the University taught geography with a much greater environmental slant, it really sparked an interest in environmental science which lead to a MSc in Ecology and the Environment on her return to the UK. The basic idea for Eco-Fish was spawned somewhere in the middle of all this study.
Ruth has always enjoyed teaching and has taught swimming and horseriding for a number of years, a fortunate introduction to Andrew and the subsequent formation of Eco-Fish Designs Ltd. provided the support and encouragement she needed to combine all her interests and develop Eco-Fish into the product you see today. It combines the knowledge of the environment gained through study and the practical skills gained through teaching to create the experience of 'learning by accident' Eco-Fish provides.
