What is Eco-Fish?

Eco-Fish has been designed not only as a fun game for students to play competitively and learn the global issues surrounding a natural resource, it also hits many of the curriculum outcomes for your school in a coordinated way.

In addition to the Curriculum for Science, Enterprise, Technology, Geography and Citizenship, Eco-fish enables you to link many of the new Curriculum Dimensions from the 2008/9 KS3 and KS4 Curriculum.

In Scottish schools the Curriculum for Excellence will be enhanced by using Eco-Fish as it uses a new and innovative product for young people to learn with an exciting experiential resource.

STOP PRESS: NEW ECO-FISH FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS - Available March 2010!

Here are some of the key benefits of using Eco-Fish:

  • Flexibility: the game has been designed to use with a full class (around 30) but could be played with more or less students as you wish. We can even provide you with a floor mat to play it on a larger scale!
  • Variety: there are five different versions for you to play straight out of the box, depending on the age, stage and composition of the groups you're working with. You could add you own spin onto the game as you develop your confidence in it.
  • Quick: the game can be played as part of a normal one-hour lesson or it can be extended over a series of sessions to increase the learning through case studies etc.
  • Informative: the game lets students learn about a huge number of issues relating to business, the environment, trade, politics and teamwork on a really engaging way. (They learn most of it by accident!)
